Work & experience

Experience that connects strategy with delivery.

Examples of where I work best: complicated commercial relationships, operational change and decisions that need an independent view.

GSCOP

Turning a Code into confident commercial practice.

I have specialised in the Groceries Supply Code of Practice since 2015 and am a GCA-approved trainer. The work ranges from board briefings to detailed sessions for national account, sales and commercial teams, plus advice when a live retailer situation becomes difficult.

The aim is never to turn relationships into legal debates. It is to help suppliers recognise an issue, understand the protection available, keep good evidence and handle the conversation professionally.

  • Thousands of participants trained
  • Work with 400+ organisations
  • Board-to-frontline audiences
  • Real scenarios and practical language
  • Ongoing advice when needed
  • Competition Law and Bribery Act training
“The team really enjoyed the session and took a lot of learnings from it.”
Sales Director, grocery brand and private-label producer

Retail

Helping suppliers see the shelf through a buyer's eyes.

Retailers do not assess a proposition from the supplier's point of view. My retail work closes that gap — translating a product story into shopper demand, margin, rate of sale, operational credibility and category fit.

Support includes retailer safaris, buyer-mindset workshops, supplier-readiness reviews and pitch preparation. It draws on nearly 30 years inside Tesco and subsequent work with brands and suppliers across the grocery market.

Transformation record

Change built around the people who have to make it work.

At Tesco, I moved from operating the processes to improving, designing and deploying them at scale.

International operating model

From task to director

Helped develop best-practice operating processes for stores, distribution and support teams, connecting detailed tasks with senior ownership across countries.

Global food sourcing

A £4.6bn function

Led development work, an offshore transition to India, a global SharePoint rollout across 14 countries and four continents, and Salesforce work for Wholesale.

Country deployment

Poland and Czechia

Managed engagement, capability, testing and rollout work touching 450 Polish stores and 375 Czech stores, while bridging local and group requirements.

Waste avoidance

Earlier insight, lower cost

Established Tesco's first dedicated waste-analysis team and worked with commercial teams and suppliers to identify threats earlier and deliver significant savings.

Event planning

Complex demand made manageable

Balanced Commercial, Distribution and Retail priorities around Christmas, Easter and weather events using sales analysis and planned system adjustments.

Independent consulting

Change beyond one sector

Since 2014, applied programme, process, operating model and facilitation experience to businesses ranging from major suppliers to independent operators.

Governance

Independent oversight with operational perspective.

Board contribution is strongest when scrutiny, strategy and the reality of delivery remain connected.
